A friend & I had a conversation on this subject not very long ago. He's my "technical advisor" for my series of novels in which a lawyer is one of the main characters. The conversation started when I asked him what a person could do if pornographic pictures of her were posted on the 'net without her consent. He didn't have an answer, which pissed him off. He said he'd look into it, but hasn't had much luck finding any satisfying answers. So, he said if a client came to him with that problem he'd tell her to "grin and bear (bare) it ... excuse the pun." Now, we're both obsessed with trying to find some kind of answer, especially to the child porn issue.

It's an unfortunate situation indeed. The only thing I can add is my own thought. It will never go away. Crime in any form, whether it be child porn, identity theft, etc.; it will never go away. People won't allow it to.
In engineering we used to have a saying . . . as soon as you make something idiot proof, they create a better idiot.
I think the same basic philosophy applies here. As soon as you cut off one avenue, they will find another.
In my opinion, people have to change, not the laws we create. The more laws you create, the harder it becomes to be a law abiding citizen.
